Tortola, British Virgin Islands, December 18, 2009 – There are just two days remaining for the public to fuel up their cars and enter a free draw to win a brand new, Suzuki Grand Vitara 2009. Drivers topping up at participating Shell service stations can hand in an entry slip for every $25 of Shell V-Power® or Shell Diesel purchased.  The Power Up 2 Win promotion ends at midnight, Saturday, December 19. The winner's name will be drawn at 4.30pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the Botanic Service Station.

Sol launched the region-wide promotion at the end of October this year. The promotion focuses on reducing the impact of fuel emissions on the environment and optimising engine efficiency. Both Shell V-Power® fuel and the 2009 Grand Vitara meet the criteria of offering a cleaner and more economical option for drivers.

V-Power® is a high-octane fuel that protects all gasoline engines. Nitrogen enriched cleaning agents help lower emissions by actively cleaning intake valves and injectors improving the efficiency of the engine. The new range of engine featured in the Grand Vitara 2009 offers improved economy and produces lower CO2 emissions.

"The promotion has been well received so far," said Deborah Benjamin, country manager for Sol St Lucia Ltd (BVI Office). “The bonus of the promotion in the BVI is that Sol has pledged a contribution to the BVI Athletics Association from every gallon of fuel sold. This donation goes towards the running costs of training the country's professional athletes. It’s a double hitter!”

The public is invited to attend the name draw at the Botanic Service Station. There will be a DJ in the forecourt and specials will be on offer in the convenience store onsite.

Participating venues in this promotion are Wickham's Cay II Service Station, Botanic Service Station  (both in Tortola), and Stevens' Station in Virgin Gorda.  Entry forms must be correctly completed to be eligible. The promotion is open to all qualified drivers in the BVI. The winner will be notified personally and his or her name will be published in the media.

Sol is the largest petroleum company in the BVI and supplies the marine community at Hodges Creek, Nanny Cay Marina, the Moorings, Village Cay, Bitter End, Biras Creek, Peter Island, Guana Island, Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour and Leverick Bay.
